Celebrating One Year of the Pinnacle Strategies Newsletter!
This September marks the first year of the Pinnacle Strategies Newsletter. The last year has been filled with plenty of learning opportunities as I have embarked on something that I have never done before, create something of value for a wide audience working in the nonprofit and philanthropy fields.
I started this journey with the desire to have 500 subscribers by the end of the first year. Well, I didn’t hit that goal (I fell 39 short), but was pleasantly surprised by the 13 of you that took advantage of the paid subscription offer. Of course, those paid subscribers received a free gift and new gifts are on their way for those that renew their subscriptions!
One of the more positive benefits of writing and growing this publication is the wonderful people I have met along the journey. I have had great opportunities to share my story with others and to be able to return the favor. I have met new colleagues and new opportunities to talk and write about nonprofits and philanthropy have shown up time and time again.
The biggest challenge of writing this newsletter is getting feedback. Everyone who reads this newsletter generally loves it. I get more conversations face-to-face about my newsletter than perhaps anything else I do. Many people find inspiration, guidance and ideas, which is exactly what I wanted to do. The whole idea of the newsletter was to help grow my new coaching and consulting practice, which has also slowly grown.
But, for the vast majority of my readers, I have no idea if what I am writing is actually resonating. Yes, the number of subscribers goes up each and every week and the newsletter are at least looked at by 38% percent of you that get these twice-a-week emails. There is also a ton of engagement with the newsletter on social media, especially LinkedIn.
And not only do I try to tackle current and serious topics with this publication, there is also an attempt to keep it fun and upbeat. The whole tropical theme is part of that. A ton of the inspiration I received for starting my consulting business and this newsletter came from a trip I took last year in the United States Virgin Islands. It was really the first time in a long time where I could be by myself with my thoughts in a completely relaxed environment with no need to look at a clock. I have also added new features, such as our question of the week to get more readers (like you!) to interact with the newsletter and get to you know you all a little bit better.
For those of you that have been there since Day 1, or who have here for one day, thanks for being a part of the Pinnacle Strategies family. I hope you enjoy what we have on offer and stick around. Feel free to tell your friends and colleagues about this wonderful resource and always feel free to reach out to me at pinnaclestrategiesltd@gmail.com
Onward and Upward,
Bill
Congrats, Bill—a big milestone!
